FAQ

we've got the answers you seek.

How do you select the artists on your Indigo Beauty Collective team?

We have several expert artists on our team. Every artist on our team has been handpicked by our owner Katie-Laine Thornton to represent Indigo Beauty Collective. It is important to her that all of our lead artists have similar skill levels and industry experience, and/or have been trained by her personally.

Are you available to travel? If so, how far?

Yes! We are happy travelers. Our travel fee is $.65/mile per artist, with a 25 mile radius from our studio included in our pricing. If flights or accommodations are needed to be a part of your big day, we would love to discuss our full travel policy!

Do you come to the venue?

We do usually come on-site to the venue or wherever the getting ready location is (a nearby hotel, airbnb, someone's home, etc).

Can you accommodate large wedding parties?

Yes, we love working with large parties!

How much time does hair + makeup take?

We like to allow 40 minutes per makeup or hair service. If you have a larger party, we will bring along additional artists as needed to help the process go quickly and smoothly.

How far in advance should I book my services?

We recommend booking 6 months to a year out, and 12-18 months for Saturdays during peak wedding months (April, May, June, Sept, Oct). We can swing the occasional last-minute wedding but bottom line, if you know your date and want to book, don’t wait!

What is your process for booking/reserving the date?

When you are ready to book, we’ll whip up a proposal for you. Once the proposal has been signed and your first payment has been processed, your date is officially reserved! The first payment is a deposit that is 25% of your total (with a minimum payment of $150 for makeup or hair and $250 for makeup + hair), which is applied to your final balance.

Do you offer trial runs? Do you require a trial run?

We suggest doing a trial run for all of our clients and it is included in our wedding package. We do not require it and have some small/elopement packages that do not include a trial run. We don’t typically do trial runs for wedding party or family members but are open to it.

When do you suggest doing a trial run?

We think that around 8 weeks before the wedding is the ideal time to do your trial run.

Do I need to have photos of what I want my hair and makeup to look like?

Photos are always welcomed! We can catch your vision for the big day more quickly with photos, but they aren’t required. Either way, we will help you create the look you’re after!

Do you stay for photos/touch ups?

We do include a brief time for touch ups after all services have been completed, but are happy to stay for photos/extra touch ups for an additional fee.

What does ethical beauty mean to you?

We are passionate about offering non-toxic makeup + hair options and desire to provide high-performing products with a consideration for the planet. We look for beauty products that are safe, sustainable, and highly effective, and use them as often as we can without compromising quality or performance. We are also actively trying to improve in this area and have made it our goal to continue to move toward a non-toxic and sustainable future.
